A highlight of the event on Saturday is an afternoon concert from 3.15pm to 5pm at the school at 360 Albany Highway. The foundation's Maylene Lai says Culture Day is a whole-day program for intermediate students in the foundation's schools network. She says about 110 students have been selected by their schools for this year's event. It also helps teachers to learn fresh strategies and techniques in teaching the Chinese language."By bringing together students and teachers from different schools we are strengthening the network. "These students and teachers will return to their classrooms with skills and experience that they can share with others," Ms Lai says. She says Culture Day provides a full immersion experience and combines learning with fun activities, games and cultural understanding. "It will enhance Chinese language proficiency and bring it to another higher level." Three Shore schools are taking part and Glenfield Intermediate. |
